So it's been awhile...
Last weekend I did a disciple now in Georgetown. It went really well and I had fun. I had 11th grade girls. I liked that age a lot. They didn't have that senior attitude yet, but they were old enough that we could relate more than younger girls.
This week has been pretty busy, nothing new. I had my first round of tests and I had 3 this week. I think if you added up the time I spent studying for all 3 it would come to maybe 2 hours. :) I wasn't worried about 2 of them and the third one I just didn't want to study for. I really just don't care. I know I what I can do to get by with the grade I am satisfied with. I have better ways to spend my time than studying for hours on end. My classes aren't that hard, so there is no need to freak out about anything.
Sing is still taking over my life and I am sooo ready for it to be over. I'm sure it will be more fun when we are performing, but right now I could careless about it. Just 2 more weeks!
This morning I started volunteering at Talitha Koum. I was in a classroom of what I think was 3 and 4 year olds. The kids were cute and I had fun. Something interesting and actually expected, was that I was called more 4 letter words this morning than in my entire life. It was all from the same kid in a matter of minutes. I don't really remember why either. This little boy got mad at me for some reason and called me a B, stupid B, and a few F bombs were included. I didn't know how to handle it because at orientation I was told that they would use language like that, but that the teachers didn't say they were bad words. The reasoning behind it was that the kids might think that if you say those words are bad that you are saying their parents are bad because they use those words. I basically ignored it until I heard one of the teachers tell the boy that we don't use those words at school. It is so sad that these little kids have this vocabulary. They have no idea what it means and they say it like it's no big deal.
This weekend will be full of great basketball (hopefully)! Tomorrow I am going to the boys game and Sunday I am going to the girls game. Tickets for the game were available to pick up this morning at 11 and people were lining up before to make sure they got tickets. I went this afternoon and got mine. Apparently they are now completely sold out. General public tickets were sold out Monday. This is crazy. I don't know if people have been this obsessed with a Baylor sport in a long time, even ever! The game is on ESPN tomorrow which is exciting. Look for me on tv!
Some storm has just blown in and it feels like my apartment is going to blow away. Thunder is shaking it. Hopefully it will hold up! :)
